Research Review: Making Sense of Canada’s Food Price Report for 2023 

The affordability of food is a growing concern for many Canadian households.  The effects of high inflation and food insecurity are more prevalent today than in the recent past, therefore the information provided in the Canada Food Report for 2023 is more relevant than ever.  The Canada Food Report is an annual report that provides predictions on food expenditures for the coming year for varying household structures.  The report is a collaboration between prominent Universities across Canada that provide both a broad scope and regional expertise.  This year, especially, the highlights of the report focus on the macroeconomic events that have affected food inflation and how those events are to impact the predictions for food costs in 2023.
