Lunch & Learn: Managing Mental Health for Frontline Staff
Join us in our series of free lunchtime talks about social issues and learn about diverse ways to help create a community in which all people are full and valued participants!
When: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, @ noon!
Speaker: Jessica Day, Director of Programs and Operations, Youth Empowerment and Support Services
Summary: Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) is an agency that provides immediate and low-barrier 24/7 shelter and various wrap-around supports for young people aged 15 to 24. Frontline staff go above and beyond the call of duty to support these marginalized populations. Nevertheless, mental health challenges are a concern for these valued team members. For this Lunch and Learn session, YESS will outline the work they undertake to support their staff in preventing burnout by understanding compassion fatigue, power dynamics and providing staff wellness that mirrors how we support the youth who experience trauma.

If you would like to be more involved, please consider a membership, donation or becoming a volunteer.
We’re also pleased to open up our Lunch and Learn sessions to other non-profits as a way of introducing agencies and their incredible programs and services to other community members.
