Abstract:The idea and need for this paper arose from discussions that took place between the leaders, Duncan Saunders, Don Juzwishin and Seana Collins, with the participants during the teaching of the first annual Putting Evidence into Practice (PEP) workshops in Edmonton, Alberta in November 2003. The PEP workshops are a 3 day program delivered by the University of Alberta and Capital Health Evidence-based Practice Center to teach participants about:
*critical appraisal skills within different disciplines;
*the discovery of new approaches to teaching evidence-based practice;
*identifying strategies to incorporate evidence into decision-making; and
